Nebraska Diving Club Rules and Regulations

Nebraska Diving Club Divers are required to abide by the team's Practice Policies, Rules & Regulations, Travel Team Code of Conduct and Off-Site Training Rules and Regulations.

The purpose of these Rules & Regulations is to promote the best possible individual and team performance, assure your child's safety and well-being, as well as to promote a favorable image of the Nebraska Diving Club as ambassadors of our sport.

Club membership, placement and grouping are at the sole discretion of the coaching staff. The staff has the full power to accept or reject the application of any person for membership.

Rules & Regulations

Junior Elite and Elite team members are required to attend all meets unless the diver does not qualify or the diver's skill does not allow them to participate. If the athlete is unable to attend for any other reason, their family is responsible to pay for their portion of the coach's travel expenses.

Lessons, Junior Elite and Elite divers may choose the days on which they wish to practice. Recreational divers may only practice with the team on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

A member of the Nebraska Diving Club may not participate in any training session or competition without the prior approval of the Head Coach.

Club membership can be terminated at the discretion of the coaches for:

  • Failure of divers or parents to support Nebraska Diving Club in a positive manner.
  • Failure to pay dues or travel expenses.
  • Failure to follow the contents of the Membership Agreement.
  • Actions considered by the staff to be detrimental to the club.
  • Continual lack of attendance at training sessions.

Divers participating in a meet are required to wear team apparel at all local and away meets as well as at opening ceremonies and during awards presentations.

Off-Site Training Rules & Regulations

There may be occasions when the coaching staff invites individual divers to attend off-site training with supervision only by the coaching staff. These opportunities are designed to enhance the performance and skills of divers of various levels or age groups. It is imperative that divers and their parents accept all of the responsibilities associated with these opportunities, and understand that their behavior reflects the standards of conduct of the Nebraska Diving Club. Appropriate curfews will be established for each trip by the coaching staff. Divers must be in their assigned rooms at the designated curfew time, and no one, except assigned roommates, is allowed in the room after that time.

Indiscreet, destructive, disrespectful or any other behavior considered to be detrimental to the club will not be tolerated.

Travel Team Code of Conduct

Arrangements for and cost of transportation, meals and lodging are the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian of the diver. Parents and/or divers are responsible for their own entry forms and meet fees.

The coaching staff will provide advance meet schedule information. Using that information, parents must arrange for their diver to be at the meet site at the prescribed time for practices and competition.

We realize that it is not always possible for parents to accompany their athlete while traveling. On trips requiring overnight lodging, club members are required to stay with a parent or an adult who accepts responsibility for the diver. Given that each diver must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, club members are encouraged to make arrangments with other club parents to act as guardians for the purposes of club travel. At no time will the coaching staff be responsible for divers, except while on the pool deck.

Additional rules may be provided by the coaching staff for certain meets.
